Richard L. Glass, born on September 25, 1934, in Overton, TX, passed away May 28, 2017, in Fresno, CA. He graduated from New London High in 1952,Texas Christian University in 1956, and did post-graduate work at the University of Texas Nacogdoches.

He taught for several years before commencing a career in the educational publishing industry. The majority of his publishing career was spent at Houghton Mifflin Company, based in Boston. Richard L. Glass, born on September 25, 1934, in Overton, TX, passed away May 28, 2017, in Fresno, CA. He graduated from New London High in 1952,Texas Christian University in 1956, and did post-graduate work at the University of Texas Nacogdoches.

He taught for several years before commencing a career in the educational publishing industry. The majority of his publishing career was spent at Houghton Mifflin Company, based in Boston. While working for Houghton Mifflin, he held positions as a field representative as well as regional sales manager. He was an active member of many national, state, and local educational and professional organizations. In addition to his publishing experience, Richard served for a period as president of Haley-Kruger Inc., a family-owned agricultural-chemical company based in Reedley, CA.

Richard, together with his wife, enjoyed attending and also supported the Fresno Symphony.

He is survived by his wife Rosalie, to whom he was married for 55 years; and his son Richard Jr., who resides in Palo Alto, CA. Other survivors include his sister, Doris Rhodes of Katy, TX; and nieces, Carol Marsh Carpenter of Tucson, AZ, and Nancy Rhodes Schriefer of Katy, TX.

A private family service is planned.
