Robert "Bob" Dean Snavely, Sr., a native of Concordia, KS, and long term resident of Caruthers, CA, for 57 years, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017, of kidney failure at Community Regional Medical Center. Robert worked at Sears in Fresno, CA, for many years as a shoe salesman, while also managing his 360 acre family farm in Caruthers, with his four sons. Robert "Bob" Dean Snavely, Sr., a native of Concordia, KS, and long term resident of Caruthers, CA, for 57 years, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017, of kidney failure at Community Regional Medical Center. Robert worked at Sears in Fresno, CA, for many years as a shoe salesman, while also managing his 360 acre family farm in Caruthers, with his four sons. Robert left Sears to work on the farm full time and start Snavely Farm Supply and Snavely Auto Sales, which were in operation for many years. Robert enjoyed working in his large shop inventing, fixing equipment as well as restoring classic and antique cars.
He was preceded in death by his son, Bill, who passed away from heart failure in 1999. The love of his life for over 50 years, Julietta "Judy", passed away in May of 2011. There was never a moment that went by that he did not miss his wife and often talked about her and the love he missed, and looked forward to the day he would be reunited with her. He is survived by three sons, Robert Jr. "Bobby", Brad, and Bryan. Robert is also survived by seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Brad Jr., Sarah, Austin, Coty, Crystal, and Sheena. He also had six great-grandchildren. He enjoyed and looked forward to seeing and taking pictures with his granddaughter Sarah's twin boys, Max and Elias. Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns and Blair Funeral Home on June 21, 2017 from 4-7p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Clovis Cemetery.
